Today, my episode as a guest on the podcast, Scary Stories We Tell, was released! The show's hosts and I discuss "legend tripping" and some of Ohio's spookiest locations.
Our fourth screening arrives March 14th! Winter's Blood has been accepted for Oregon Scream Week Horror Film Festival. First time any of my films is traveling to Oregon, and I'm honored.
Winter's Blood is now available on YouTube! We'll still be waiting to hear back from festivals through next summer, but since our first few screenings have passed, I've decided not to postpone the release any longer.
Let the festival submissions begin! Winter's Blood is already being called my "best yet" by those who have seen it. Let's hope for some exciting screenings.
BIG success this weekend at Horror Hotel. Suzanne won her Best Actress award, and I won Best Ohio Director AND Best Ohio Film. You can read more about the event on Kickstarter.
Nominations for Below the Trees are in from The International Horror Hotel. I'm up for a directing award, and both Katherine Genge and Suzanne Sadler are nominated for acting awards. I'm attending next week, so wish us luck!
My short film, Winter's Blood, wrapped principal photography Monday morning. I filmed in the snow for the first time, and it was quite a challenge. Can't wait to begin editing.
One of the top reviewers on Letterboxd (a go-to app for cinephiles) recently wrote about Below the Trees. I was thrilled to see the positive things she had to say, so check it out! If you have a Letterboxd account, you're welcome to write a review too.
This week, I'm a guest on episode 17 of Blumhouse's Attack of the Queerwolf podcast! Our episode discusses a hidden gem of indie horror, and one of my fav films, Let's Scare Jessica to Death.
International Independent Film Awards has given Below the Trees platinum awards for Suzanne Sadler's performance, my directing, and Jonathan Snipes' original score. The festival has many tiers of awards, so I'm proud that we managed to score so high.
At long last, Below the Trees has finished post-production. Wish us luck as we submit to festivals -- it took a lot of people to make this little movie happen!
Thrilled to announce I'm working with one of my favorite composers of all time on Below the Trees. Jonathan has composed music for many notable films, including Room 237, Starry Eyes, and The Nightmare. Links to Jonathan's work are available at the Kickstarter update.
Haunt Me screened at the The International Horror Hotel film festival and convention. For her performance as Carmen, Meka Butler won Best Ohio Supporting Actress. I was nominated for Best Director of an Ohio Film, and Andrew Boylan was nominated for Best Cinematography in an Ohio Film.
Haunt Me won two gold awards from International Independent Film Awards. These accolades were awarded to Katherine Genge for her performance as Angie and to Andrew Boylan for his cinematography.
I was interviewed by Columbus Alive! for an article about things I love. The list includes 1970's horror films, Disasterpeace's soundtrack for It Follows, Marcus Crosswoods Cinema, singer/songwriter PJ Harvey, and Graeter's Ice Cream.
I launched my first crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter! It's a short horror/comedy called Haunt Me. The screenplay was a finalist at Midwest Horror Shorts Film Festival and later made it into the top three of 13Horror.com's screenwriting contest.
